We had the pleasure of photographing Shayvonna and Jarvis for their 21c Durham engagement session. These two are such a dynamic couple. We can’t wait to capture their wedding day. Until then, read more about Shay and Jarvis below!
We met at a party on NCA&T campus. I saw Jarvis outside and told him we went to school together (high school). He didn’t believe. Then I told him he graduated in 09, played basketball, and worked at Wendy’s. Creep. Then he said “you went to K High?” Yes, of course. We exchanged numbers and a couple of days later we went on our first date. We saw Twilight and had dinner at Olive Garden. The rest is history.
We decided to go to Atlanta Georgia for my birthday in December. On our last night, Jarvis bought tickets to the Chinese Lantern Festival at Centennial Olympic Park. After the festival we went to dinner at Ruth Chris and walked through the Centennial Olympic Park where they had Christmas Lights up. Jarvis told me to sit down and hold this. (We had a sign made with our names at the Chinese Lantern) I was confused! I thought he was going to take a picture of me under the Christmas lights but he got down on one knee and proposed. Don’t forget this is December in Atlanta. The temperature outside was 10 degrees but when he proposed I didn’t feel anything. I was shocked.
I’m excited about my event designer Lynn from Fresh Affairs and DJ Harlem with his talent in music and effects. Unforgettable Food Affairs will be our catering company and can’t wait for guest to try our southern comfort food!
We will be getting married at Noah’s Event Center located in Morrisville, NC on 08/18/18. We met in August (08) and he started officially dating December 18th.

Vintage Love. We wanted to show our family a very vintage classy look with two individuals that love each other. Taking pictures in the vault during our 21c Durham engagement session was amazing! We are not the typical couple which means our photos have to be different. We always wanted vintage photos with a classy spin and that’s what we received.

Dawn made this experience fun and exciting. She makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Dawn is one of the few vendors we’ve met that took the time out to make a personal connection. She likes to learn her couples to better understand what they are looking for in their pictures. Dawn captured moments between us that were off guard, but became our favorite photos. From laughing to kissing. She captured it all in our 21c Durham engagement session. We love her and cannot wait to see the moments she will capture at our wedding!
