The Details DO Matter…So Capture Them | North Carolina Wedding Photographer

Weddings

Wedding planning. There is so much effort and detail that can go into the planning of a wedding. You pick up one magazine and next thing you know you’re on an endless spiral through wedding magazines, blogs and Pinterest trying to come up with the perfect theme. Picking the perfect wedding colors, flowers, favors, etc., can take up a lot of time.

I can remember the planning of my own wedding. I chose to take the DIY route. Part of that was because I love to create and work with my hands. But a big part of it was that I was moving from Brooklyn to Raleigh and needed money for that. SO, I did all of my invites, favors and centerpieces myself. Everything from the wedding colors, to the bridesmaids dresses to the perfume and accessories that I wore was carefully thought out and revolved around the winter theme of our wedding. And on that cold day in January, everything fell together perfectly! But…it was such a busy day that I really couldn’t appreciate the end result. This is where your photographer comes in.

You have taken the time to incorporate these special details into your day but chances are, in the swirl and hustle of it all, you may not be able to fully appreciate the effort put into it. Your photographer, however, understands all of the work put in and should capture these details for you to appreciate at a later date.

I was a second shooter at Maple Chase Golf & Country Club in Winston Salem, NC this past weekend. When I walked in I immediately took notice of all of the cute details that the bride and groom had brought in. Their colors were taupe, creme and red, which made for a classic look with really cute pops of color.

The groom and groomsmen sported tuxedo shirts with rolled up sleeves for a casual touch. The guys each wore a calla lily and red rose boutonniere, which was attached to their red suspenders. Red was also incorporated into their bow-ties.

The bridesmaids all wore different styles of lace knee-length dresses in the shade of creme. They each held a simple, yet elegant bouquet made up of three calla lilies wrapped in red burlap. Pops of red was also incorporated into their shoes, nail polish and lip color.

The groomsmen also received a classic leather and silver flask as gifts. Nice touch!

The official flowers were the calla lily and the red rose. (LOVE calla lilies!)

I made sure to document these things for the bride and groom because memories fade over time. You’ve spent time, money and effort on all of the things that make your wedding day unique. Make sure that you are able to look back on your entire day and be happy that those small details were made available to you in a tangible way. You’ll be happy that you did!
