Desert Engagement Session | Sheena and Roshane

Elopements, Engagements

Ya’ll! I literally have no words right now to describe how I’m feeling about this desert engagement session in The Outer Banks. First of all, the location! If you don’t know, I’m a huge fan of landscape photography and nature scenes. So I’m always researching shoot locations that are appealing and different. I’m not quite sure how I came across Jocky’s Ridge State Park. But when I saw it I knew that I had to shoot there. So, I got with some other creatives to begin planning a styled elopement shoot here!

In the meantime, I wanted to scope out the location for logistical information. And the best way to do that is to physically go. But, this location is 3 1/2 hours away from my house. Not one to be wasteful, I wanted to maximize my excursion. So I got some friends together, came up with a theme, and off we went to Jocky’s Ridge State Park for our shoot and logistical research.

In A Separate Story

Sheena and Roshane were supposed to have a destination wedding last year but Covid-19 threw a wrench in those plans. They decided to get married at the courthouse and postpone their wedding until everything could get under control. Sheena and Rush are such wonderful people, both separate and together. And they never had engagement photos taken to commemorate the occasion of being engaged. So it was nice to be able to gift them with images that were unique, beautiful and that showcase their love.

There are more inspiring images to come from my upcoming styled shoot, in which Sheen and Roshane are models! Be sure to look out for those photos. I promise this is going to be one that will appeal to your visual senses.

If you would like to schedule a desert engagement session with me at this gorgeous location, feel free to shoot me a message and we’ll get started with planning!
