How did you two meet?

We met in college at Winston Salem State University during the summer of 2010. We both knew of each other through mutual friends but never spoke until Eric messaged me on Facebook. We eventually met up at Coldstone after talking via phone for a while and we just clicked! The rest is history!

How did Eric propose?

Eric proposed to me at on a beach at sunset in Jamaica during our first international trip together. I had no idea it was coming! I thought we were just going to see the sunset into the ocean and take some cool pictures! lol

How long have you been together?

We have been together about 9 years.

What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?

The ceremony is one of our favorite moments. I loved walking down the aisle and seeing the Eric for the first time whereas Eric really enjoyed walking down the aisle together as husband and wife! We also loved partying with our family and friends!

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?

Amazing! We had a blast at our wedding! Planning was also fun and stress free!

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?

Hire a wedding planner! Our planner, Vanity Jones, truly made our wedding planning process so easy! She helped us locate and decide on vendors and parts of our decor. Whether it be big or small she had it covered, even things we hadn’t even thought about! It would have definitely been a different and likely more stressful experience without her help!

What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple?

Book Chronicles Photography! 🙂

Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?

I found it in a local bridal boutique in Greensboro called Simply Stunning by Divas. I choose my dress because it was unique and different from other dress I had seen. I knew it was the one by the way it accented by curves! I also loved the low back and the slight undertones of blush in the dress!

How was your experience working with me on your wedding day?

It was a lot of fun! The Chronicles Photography team made us feel super comfortable and handsome/beautiful!

Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!

We did not see each other before and we liked it that way! We love seeing couples first reactions to seeing each other at the altar and we didn’t want our wedding to be any different!

We love to hear about vendors you love. List any vendors here and feel free to share your experience.

Vanity Jones, Wedding Planner: So amazing, helpful, and patient! She executed our vision to perfection! She made sure the planning process was low stress and contributed great decor ideas for our wedding! Just the best!

Designs North, Florist, Greensboro, NC – Lisa was the main florist we worked with and she was great! She really understood the look we were going for and worked with us to make sure it was within our budget! Also, very patient as we worked to nail down our final floral designs.

Nathaniel Jaye Hair, Winston-Salem, NC – Nathaniel killed not only my hair but my mother’s and some of my bridesmaids as well!

Brittany Batts, Makeup Artist – Charlotte, NC – Brittany was the best! She gave me exactly the look I wanted and it lasted all night!

Mastermind Productions, Videography, Durham, NC

Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for?

Etsy and Amazon were definitely some of my favorite sites that I used for decor items, my wedding accessories (i.e. veil, earrings, necklace), and gifts for my bridesmaids. We also used Dollartree for our candle holders.

What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?

Eric was nervous about tripping, which didn’t happen! lol I was just scared about something crazy happening that would ruin our day which thankfully didn’t happen!

What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for planning their wedding?

Remember this day is about you guys! Make choices that will make YOU happy!

What kind of food was served at your reception?

We had a buffet style reception and our menu consisted of bourbon chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, and roasted vegetables.
