Ya’ll, so I’m a bit biased on this Downtown Raleigh engagement session. It was absolutely amazing!!! But what made this session even more amazing is that the bride-to-be is none other than my beloved wedding assistant! Yes! Shaquan is getting married to a wonderful man named Nate. I get the honor of documenting their wedding day this coming December. Here are some of our favorite images from their engagement session!

How did you two meet?
Nate and I met on Facebook!
How did he propose?
Nate came to my job on our 2 year anniversary to bring me snacks (he knows I get hungry when I have to work the late shift ) along with flowers. What I thought was about to be a cheesy picture in front of some my closet coworkers and friends turned into a proposal!
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding!
We’re both most excited about bringing all our family and friends together! Some of them will be meeting for the first time, so to be able to not only celebrate the joining of us but our families as well is very exciting. Next to that we’re definitely looking forward to cutting a rug on the dance floor!
Where are you getting married?
We’re getting married at wedding venue Suite 300 located in Greensboro NC.
What did you each wear to your session?
I wore a long black evening gown and Nate wore a burgundy two piece suit, paired with black turtle neck.
What kind of look were you going for?
SEXY !!! As a couple we don’t dress up a lot, so we definitely wanted to surprise family and friends by showing them that we can definitely clean up nice when we want to.
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about to have engagement photos taken?
Whoever you are when it’s just the two of you — bring that same presence to your engagement session. It will make the session even more enjoyable and your true love for one another will definitely show in your pictures.
How was your overall session experience?
Amazing!!! Dawn is such a down to earth person! She is very flexible adjusting to your comfort level and to what you want out of your session. She is even more cool with taking the lead if you really don’t know what you want. Either way you will have greatttt photos produced to last a lifetime!
