Samonia + Shaun’s Interview
How did you two meet?
Shaun and Samonia first met in 2013 when they began working for the same company. The pair would cross each other’s paths daily, casually speaking. Samonia was NOT looking for Shaun and Shaun surely was NOT looking for Samonia. One day, Samonia was assigned to introduce Shaun to a couple of consumers that he had just been assigned to. Not knowing each other, they quickly discovered that they had a mutual passion for helping others.
As time went on, Samonia and Shaun continued to talk briefly while at work. It took no time at all for Samonia to realize she truly enjoyed talking to him and respected his hustle. While in the elevator one day, Shaun took his shot and ask Samonia for her phone number. After weeks of conversing over the phone and through Facebook, Shaun asked Samonia out on their first date. They agreed on a date and a time but the location was unknown until the day of the date. To Samonia’s surprise the location was Duke Gardens!
Samonia and Shaunwould talk for hours regarding their dreams and aspirations. Realizing how intrigued they were with one another, they decided to grab dinner nearby at Samonia’s favorite Mexican Restaurant, El Rodeo. The connection and spark that they felt made both of them feel as if they had been friends forever. A few months later, Samonia and Shaun made their relationship official. Together they blended their families, and things just felt right. The pair love each other’s kiddos like they’ve always been a part of their lives. Soon after, Samonia and Shaun were blessed when they brought their daughter into this world. Samonia and Shaun have since been happily together for 4 years and have enjoyed every minute of their time together.
Many people share the belief that New Year’s Eve celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts. Shaun couldn’t have thought of a better way to creating an everlasting memory with Samonia by proposing to her in Time Square as the ball dropped, bringing in 2016.
Shaun and I are excited about our families coming to celebrate with us for an entire weekend in Montego Bay Jamaica. Shaun and I traveled to Jamaica 2 years ago and we vowed that then that Montego Bay would be the perfect location for our Wedding. We fell in love with the Jamaican culture, people, and beaches during our travels and couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate this special occasion. The wedding and reception will take place at Hilton Rose Hall in Montego Bay. It is being designed and planned by Sabrina Seymore of Sabrina Seymore Events and photographed by Chronicles Photography.
What did you and Shaun wear to your session?
Samonia’s dress was from Sew Trendy Accessories. Shaun chose to wear a custom tailored suit from Hugo Boss. We wanted to go for an intimate and elegant engagement session, so it was very important that our attire was on point.
Our advice to other couples is to have fun and enjoy the experience.
Shaun and I are beyond thrilled that we chose Chronicles Photography to capture our special moments during our Durham engagement session.
