There are so many small details that go into planning a wedding. I could go down a long list. One of these details, purchased before any wedding planning takes place, is the engagement ring. A lot of time, thought and money will go into that small token of glittery beauty. I love to see the creativity that goes into the picking of each of my clients rings. And there is something about well executed wedding ring photography that just does it for me. I’m not sure if it’s the sparkle of the rings, the challenge of finding creative ways to tell the story of the rings or my background in jewelry design. Whatever the reason for my love, I cannot let my clients rings go unphotographed. Why? Because they help to tell your story. It’s as simple as that. Here are some of my favorite wedding ring images from the first half of wedding season.
These were all taken with my Nikon 105mm macro lens. I love this lens and bought it specifically to deliver these types of detailed images to my clients. I typically ask my clients for their rings when I arrive at the beginning of the day. I like to spend about fifteen minutes with the rings, moving from place to place until I find a backdrop that I fall in love with. Clients love to see their rings as digital art. You may see your rings everyday, absolutely! But if you spend your money on a luxury service like wedding photography, every single detail should be captured as art…even your rings.
