Last week my travels took me to DUMBO in Brooklyn to photograph another good friend of mine. I’ve known Claudette for some time now. We both attended the same church and sang in a couple of choirs there. (Alto’s, stand up!) Ok, reeling it back in…Claudette and I had talked in the past about the possibility of doing a shoot for her. Last weekend we were finally able to make it happen.
Claudette arrived on the scene as vibrant as she normally is. I’ve always felt that Claudette was a fashionista, wearing colors that compliment her honey complexion and personality. To me she looked like a flower in a concrete jungle. Also along for the ride were her beau Owen and his son Jordan. Owen and Claudette showed up ready to shoot. Little Jordan was another story. No worries though. Rejection only makes me more persistent.
In addition to getting some beautiful portraits of Claudette, I was also able to capture some great moments between father and son.
Claudette also joined in for a bit of rock skipping with the guys. She has quite a bit of a throw, huh? Impressive!

It took a bit of chatter, tickles and interest in him being the fastest, smartest person in the whole wide world, but we finally got him to look at the camera. After that I had a conversation buddy for the rest of the session!
